I always have a ball of whole wheat dough in my fridge just waiting to be made into a pizza, stromboli, or calzone thanks to GreenBEAN delivery. It makes homemade pizza night sooo easy!
Usually we stick to traditional red sauce with mostly traditional toppings. But this time I changed things up a bit by making a white pizza! And what goes best with alfredo sauce? Chicken and broccoli! This pizza has become the new favorite in our household. Can't wait to make it again. :)
1 whole wheat dough ball
1 lb chicken breast
1 head of broccoli, chopped
1 cup alfredo sauce
.5 cup fresh mozzarella
.25 cup parm, shredded
3 garlic cloves, minced
4 basil leaves
salt and pepper
1. Heat oven to 400 degrees with pizza stone (or baking sheet). Cook chicken in medium heat pan with a bit of olive oil, salt, and pepper (about 7 minutes).
2. Roll dough into a thin crust and roll up the edge to create a lip for the sauce. Mince garlic and spread over the crust. Scoop alfredo onto the crust and spread evenly.
3. Cut cooked chicken into slices and arrange on crust. Add broccoli (you may want to soften the broccoli by adding .25 cup of water to the pan the chicken was in, add broccoli, and let simmer for 2 minutes).
4. After drying off mozzarella, pinch off pieces and cover the crust. Add salt, pepper, and parm... then transfer pizza to hot pizza stone. Bake for 15 minutes. Top with shredded basil.
Chicken Pizza is my favorite pizza ever. And your pizza Looks like will be a super delicious
